Situated In Jörger Street is an almost 100 year old house - this is HOTEL THÜRINGERHOF
The house was built as an old Viennese middle class residence and has been privately owned by the Fischer/Wilhelm family since 1971. Towards the end of the nineteen eighties the house complex was completely renovated, to M-star status. An old house, lovingly restored to golden glory has become one of the landmarks of the l8th District in Vienna.
Even with modernizing the interior of the hotel, care was taken to preserve the historic architecture of the building. By tastefully furnishing the interior with chandeliers and antique rugs, a restful atmosphere was maintained. The Hotel has 80 individually furnished rooms with either bath or shower , Cable TV and radio as well as direct telephones lines. Various Restaurants, elegant Conference facilities, an informal bar and recreations room with reading corner, are at the disposal of guests. From our Terrace one has a panoramic view of the famous Stephans cathedral, the Votive church and the City Hall.
The Hotel Thuringer Hof is centrally situated in Jörger Street, approximately 15 min walk from the Ring Street University of Vienna, the architecturally interesting Votiv church, and within walking distance of an Underground station. The catering for the Hotel has for generations been provided by the Fisher/Wilhelm family. One has not forgotten however, that this familiar atmosphere, despite all modern technological requirements, forms the basis of a successful hotel. |
